Workshops and Courses of the 25th Lanzarote International Film Festival

The 25th Lanzarote International Film Festival not only celebrated cinema on the screen, but also promoted learning and audiovisual professionalization through a carefully curated program of workshops and training courses held between April and July 2025.

The training agenda opened from April 1 to 4 with the Visual Effects (VFX) in Film Workshop, taught by Francisco García from StellarBeat Films. Using After Effects as the main tool, attendees explored digital compositing and special effects techniques—key components of contemporary filmmaking.

Continuing with the technical approach, the Cinematography Workshop took place from April 21 to 25, led by Danien Cabecera. During these sessions, participants delved into visual language, working on aspects such as framing, lighting, and camera-based storytelling.

In May, from the 19th to the 23rd, the Introduction to Cinematic Language Workshop was held, taught by David GP. Aimed at beginners in the world of film, this workshop offered a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of audiovisual storytelling, addressing essential concepts such as shot types, editing, and narrative rhythm.

The program continued in June with the Film Editing Workshop, held from the 16th to the 20th and led by Fernando Cruz. Using Davinci Resolve software, students learned to structure raw footage and craft a coherent narrative through professional editing techniques.

The training cycle concluded in July with one of the most anticipated workshops: the Acting for the Camera Workshop, taught by actor Fernando Cayo from July 11 to 13. Over these sessions, participants worked on expressiveness, naturalness, and character development in front of the camera, all guided by the experience and practical approach of an actor with an extensive film and television career.

Thanks to this training program, the Lanzarote Film Festival strengthened its commitment to the development of film culture on the island, consolidating its role as a benchmark not only in film exhibition but also in audiovisual education.
