Manuela Ocón

She’s one of the most important production directors in Spanish cinema. She has worked in the most popular and best selling fiction films in Spain. She has been nominated for a Goya Award three times for Best Production for three films directed by Alberto Rodríguez: “Grupo 7”, “La isla mínima” and “El hombre de las mil caras”. Her most complicated work has been the production of “La peste”, a 10-million euro super-production, with two-million participants. She wrote her Doctoral Thesis “Desigualdad de género en la producción de ficción a través de la gestión del tiempo”. Her film career started by being acclaimed as a production trainee and assistant to Pedro Olea (“Más allá del jardín”), Carlos Saura (“Goya en Burdeos”) and Fernando Fernán Gómez (“Lázaro de Tormes”).
