The Egret River – Wang Ling Liu – Taiwán (20´)

Sinopsis
Entre los edificios de la ciudad, un solitario guardia esconde un hermoso campo que nadie conoce. Allí se encuentra con una garza. La expansión urbana no se detiene y, un día, el campo es destruido.

Among the buildings of the city, a lonely guard hides a beautiful field that nobody knows about. There he meets a heron. The urban expansion does not stop and, one day, the  countryside is destroyed.

Biografía
Nacida en 1981, Wan-Ling Liu es una animadora e ilustradora independiente que se graduó de la Universidad Nacional de las Artes de Tainan en Taiwán. A menudo inspirada en la observación de la naturaleza y la vida cotidiana, sus animaciones de ella ofrecen una perspectiva única y suave a través de gráficos detallados.

Born in 1981, Wan-Ling Liu is a freelance animator and illustrator who graduated from the Tainan National University of the Arts in Taiwan. She often inspired by the observation of nature and everyday life, her de ella animations offer a unique and gentle perspective through detailed graphics.

The Smile – Erik van Schaaik –  Paises Bajos (16´)

Sinopsis
Cuando una estrella de cine de fama mundial es acusada de comerse a sus coprotagonistas femeninas, su carrera se va por el desagüe. Eso borra la sonrisa de su cara.

When a world-famous movie star is accused of eating his female co-stars, his career goes down the drain. That wipes the smile off her face.

Biografía
El cineasta holandés Erik van Schaaik comenzó a filmar a la edad de doce años, creando cortometrajes en súper 8 que llegaron a la televisión internacional. Mientras estudiaba diseño gráfico, Erik comenzó a trabajar para la televisión holandesa, creando una serie de películas animadas, dramas de acción en vivo y documentales, en una variedad de estilos y técnicas.

Dutch filmmaker Erik van Schaaik started filming at the age of twelve, creating super-8 short films that made it to international television. During his study graphic design, Erik started working for Dutch television, creating a series of animated films, live action drama and documentaries, in a variety of styles and techniques.

Voyage avec mon pere – Mor Israeli – Francia (10´)

Sinopsis
Por primera vez, Tamar (5 años), acompaña a su papá a un hotel donde los veraneantes parecen un poco raros… A través de los ojos de la niña emprenderemos un viaje teñido de surrealismo.

For the first time, Tamar (5 years old) accompanies her father to a hotel where the vacationers seem a bit strange… Through the girl’s eyes we will embark on a journey tinged with surrealism.

Biografía
Nacido en Israel, Mor Israeli se graduó de Bezalel, la Academia de Arte y Diseño de Jerusalén. En 2015 se mudó a Francia y continuó sus estudios en la escuela de animación La Poudriere en Valence. Su película de graduación «Clapotis» ganó varios premios en festivales internacionales. En 2018, Mor recibió el prestigioso premio SACD New Talent for Animation Award.

Born in Israel, Mor Israeli graduated from Bezalel, the Jerusalem Academy of Art and Design. In 2015, she moved to France and continued her studies at the animation school La Poudriere in Valence. Her graduation film «Clapotis» won several awards at international festivals. In 2018, Mor was granted by the prestigious SACD New Talent for Animation Award.

Un comerciante de instrumentos musicales antiguos recibe un disco de vinilo mágico de un viajero. “Lee tu mente y reproduce tus recuerdos perdidos”.

An antique musical instrument dealer receives a magical vinyl record from a traveler. «Read your mind and reproduce your lost memories.»

Biografía
Nacido en 1978, Jonathan Laskar estudió artes visuales en la Universidad de Aix-Marseille y contrabajo clásico en el Conservatorio de Aix-en-Provence. En el año 2000 se traslada a Alemania, a la ciudad de Weimar, para estudiar arquitectura en la Bauhaus-Universität. Tras unos años de experiencia profesional como arquitecto en Basilea, estudió animación en la Universidad de Arte y Diseño de Lucerna (Suiza), donde obtuvo un máster con su película de graduación De terre et d’encre producida por Claude Barras. Desde 2013 vive en Ginebra y trabaja como realizador de animación independiente.

Born in 1978, Jonathan Laskar studied visual arts at the University of Aix-Marseille and classical double bass at the Conservatory of Aix-en-Provence. In 2000, he moved to Germany, in the city of Weimar, to study architecture at the Bauhaus-Universität. After a few years of professional experience as an architect in Basel, he studied animation at the Lucerne University of Art and Design (Switzerland), where he obtained a master’s degree with his graduation film De terre et d’encre produced by Claude Barras. Since 2013, he lives in Geneva and works as an independent animation filmmaker.

Hjemmekontor – Endre Lund Eriksen – Noruega (9´)

El cole está cerrado por la pandemia de COVID-19 y la pequeña Lilly debe quedarse en casa cuidando de su madre borracha. Cuando una chica de clase se entera, su secreto peligra. Pero a veces la ayuda viene de donde menos te lo esperas.

The school is closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and little Lilly must stay at home taking care of her drunk mother. When a girl in class finds out, her secret is in jeopardy. But sometimes help comes from where you least expect it.

Endre Lund Eriksen es un autor galardonado de muchos libros para niños y adultos jóvenes, además de guionista y director. Ha dirigido televisión infantil para NRK Super. «Home office» es su primer corto animado de su autoría.

Endre Lund Eriksen is an award-winning author of many children’s and young adult books, and a screenwriter and director. He has directed children’s tv for NRK Super. «Home office» is his first animated short by him.

The most boring granny in the whole world – Damaris Zielke – Alemania (7´)

Sinopsis
Greta tiene la abuela más aburrida del mundo entero. Cuando se queda dormida en el sofá, a Greta se le ocurre la idea de jugar al funeral con su abuela. Esto los confronta con algunas preguntas que no se habían hecho antes. Porque ¿qué queda cuando hay que dejar la vida atrás?

Greta has the most boring grandma in the whole world. When she falls asleep on the sofa, Greta gets the idea, to play funeral with her grandma. This confronts them with some questions they didn’t ask themselves before. Because what remains when you have to leave life behind?

Biografía
Damaris Zielke nació en el suroeste de Alemania en 1992. Estudió comunicación visual en Weimar en la Universidad Bauhaus y continuó estudiando animación en la Filmakademie Baden-Wurttemberg en 2016-2021. Trabajando como diseñador de movimiento y animador independiente en diferentes producciones de televisión y documentales al mismo tiempo. En 2019 participó en la clase magistral de 6 semanas de Lucerne para animación avanzada (LuMAA) en Suiza. Actualmente trabaja como animadora en Londres.

Damaris Zielke was born in south-west Germany in 1992. She studied visual communication in Weimar at the Bauhaus University and continued studying animation at the Filmakademie Baden-Wurttemberg in 2016-2021. Working as a freelance Motion Designer & Animator on different TvProductions and Documentaries at the same time. In 2019 she took part in the 6 week Lucerne Masterclass for advanced Animation (LuMAA) in Switzerland. Currently she is working as an Animator London.

Dear Mahsa – Martin Pflanzer – Alemania (5´)

En respuesta al asesinato de Mahsa Jina Amini, de 22 años, por parte del ejército iraní, el corto narra la terrible situación de Irán desde la Revolución Islámica. Un poema ilustrado de Ayeda Alavie.

In response to the assassination of 22-year-old Mahsa Jina Amini by the Iranian army, the short chronicles the dire situation in Iran since the Islamic Revolution. An illustrated poem by Ayeda Alavie.

Biografía
Martin Pflanzer nació en Bucarest en 1985 y, después de pasar su infancia y años escolares soñando despierto, estudió arte y multimedia en la LMU Munich. Además de su trabajo como diseñador gráfico para la televisión bávara, a menudo busca nuevas formas de expresarse en imagen y sonido. Esto dio como resultado varias instalaciones, ilustraciones, fotografías, pinturas, animaciones, escenografías y últimamente también libros.

Martin Pflanzer was born in Bucharest in 1985 and after spending his childhood and school years mostly daydreaming he studied art and multimedia at the LMU Munich. Besides his work as a graphic designer for Bavarian television, he is often looking for new ways of expressing himself in image and sound. This resulted in various installations, illustrations, photographs, paintings, animations, stage designs and lately also books.

Slouch – Michael Bohnenstingl – USA (18´)

Un aspirante a leyenda musical se ve empujado por un demoníaco compositor de canciones a sumergirse en sus emociones más oscuras. Su novia Lisa en cambio quiere una vida familiar armoniosa.

An aspiring musical legend is pushed by a demonic songwriter into immersing himself in his darkest emotions. His girlfriend Lisa, on the other hand, wants a harmonious family life.

Biografía
Michael Bohnenstingl es escritor y director que se centra en la narración basada en personajes en la animación. Se tomó un descanso de sus estudios en el Instituto de Animación para trabajar en series infantiles para televisión en Studio Soi. Ocasionalmente presenta el gran espectáculo de películas alternativas «Night of Shame». Actualmente escribe guiones de largometraje.

Michael Bohnenstingl is a writer & director, focusing on character based storytelling in animation. He took a break from studying at Animationsinstitut to work on kids-series for television at studio soi. He occasionally hosts the alternative film extravaganza»Night of Shame». Currently he is writing feature length screenplays.

Blue Wall – Yu-Cheng Tu, Wan-Yu Chung & Li-Lin Chen – Taiwan (10´)

Sinopsis
Esta historia trata sobre un niño al revés que vive con su padre. Debido a su gravedad diferente, el padre teme que el niño se vaya volando cuando salga de la casa; por lo tanto, el niño tiene prohibido salir. En lugar de comprometerse, el niño lee muchos libros para imaginar y aprender sobre el mundo exterior.

This story is about an upsidedown boy living with his father. Because of his different gravity, the father is afraid that the boy will fly away when he leaves the house; therefore, the boy is forbidden to go out. Instead of compromising, the boy reads lots of books to imagine and learn about the world outside.

TU, YU-CHENG crece en Taichung, Taiwán. Foco en animación e ilustración 3D. Le encanta la animación, el cine y la pintura.
CHEN, LI-LIN, una persona que habla despacio. Le encanta filmar un video y editarlo. Pero actualmente hace animaciones en 3D.

Los cuatro jinetes del Apocalipsis se reúnen para analizar el estado de la humanidad y discutir sus estrategias futuras. Una moribunda Muerte intenta convencer a sus compañeros de que convendría torturar menos a los humanos.

The four horsemen of the apocalypse meet to analyze the state of humanity and discuss their future strategies. A dying Death tries to convince her companions that she should torture humans less.

Biografía
Ópera prima de Carlos, el largometraje de animación 2D Memorias de un hombre en pijama, ha sido nominado a los premios Goya y Platino (entre otros) y ha ganado el premio Gaudí. También fue director y guionista del cortometraje de animación Morti, seleccionado en más de 20 ocasiones, y ha participado en más de una decena de largometrajes. Lorena es licenciada en Bellas Artes. Tiene películas animadas como El sueño de una noche de San Juan, El espíritu del bosque y ¡Noche santa!. Actualmente dirige el largometraje Hanna and the Monsters, uno de los finalistas del Premio Proyecto Eurimages.

Carlos debut film, the 2D animation feature film Memoirs of a man in Pajamas, has been nominated for the Goya and Platino awards (among others) and has won the Gaudi award. He was also the director and scriptwriter of the animated short film Morti, which was selected on more than 20 occasions, and has taken part in more than a dozen feature films. Lorena is a bachelor in Fine Arts. She has animated films such as A San Juan Night’s Dream, The Spirit of the Forest and Holy Night!. She is currently directing the feature film Hanna and the Monsters, one of the finalists in the Eurimages Project Award.

Suruaika – Vlad Ilicevici & Radu Pop – Rumanía (9´)

Sinopsis
Kipu es un chofer de lujo en una ciudad oscura, donde las calles están llenas de coches y gatos negros. Accidentalmente atropella a la familia de un pequeño gato llamado Suruaika.

Kipu is a luxury driver in a dark city, where the streets are full of cars and black cats. He accidentally runs over the family of a small cat named Suruaika.

Vlad y Radu trabajan juntos en casi todo lo que hacen. Administran un estudio de cine de animación (Worksheep Studio), la principal plataforma educativa para jóvenes animadores y estudiantes rumanos (Animation Worksheep) y, al mismo tiempo, ambos son profesores en la Escuela Nacional de Cine como parte del Departamento de Animación. Por último, pero no menos importante, su banda, Orkid, hizo la partitura original de Suruaika.

Vlad and Radu work in tandem for almost everything they do. They manage an animation film studio (Worksheep Studio), the main educational platform for Romanian young animators and students (Animation Worksheep) and, at the same time, both of them are teachers at the National Film School as part of the Animation Department. Last but not least, their band – Orkid – did the original score for Suruaika.

John Henry Hinkel es un cineasta de Atlanta, Georgia. Previamente, escribió la adaptación de largometraje del cortometraje animado nominado al Oscar THE DAM KEEPER para 20th Century Fox y Tonko House. Antes de eso, escribió y dirigió el cortometraje HOME, que acumuló más de 1,8 millones de visitas en línea.

John Henry Hinkel is a filmmaker from Atlanta, Georgia. Previously, he penned the feature-length adaptation of the Oscar-nominated animated short film THE DAM KEEPER for 20th Century Fox and Tonko House. Fundador de la casa productora Enjambre Hexagonal y graduado de la carrera de animación fílmica en Concordia University en Montreal, Canadá. Su carrera oscila entre la animación y la técnica live-action, mientras que su vida entre Canadá y México. Ha participado en más de 100 festivales internacionales en, al menos, 32 países. Con «La Melodía Torrencial» fue recientemente galardonado en festivales como el Fantasia International Film Festival.

Founder of the production company Enjambre Hexagonal and graduate of the film animation career at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. His career oscillates between animation and live-action technique, while his life between Canada and Mexico. He has participated in more than 100 international festivals in at least 32 countries. With «La Melodía Torrential» he was recently awarded at festivals such as the Fantasia International Film Festival.

Juana Saavedra es una auténtica fuerza de la naturaleza de 72 años. En 1982 abrió su tienda Confecciones Saavedra y, 42 años después, es incapaz de jubilarse aunque en su escaparate lleve ya dos años colgado el cartel de “REMATE TOTAL”.

Juana Saavedra is a true 72-year-old force of nature. In 1982 she opened her shop Confecciones Saavedra and, 42 years later, she is unable to retire even though the «TOTAL AUCTION» sign has been hanging in her window for two years now.

Biografía
Padro Ayose nace en Lanzarote en 1986. Se forma como actor en el estudio de Juan Carlos Corazza y participa en gran cantidad de cursos de interpretación y guion. José Martret nace en Palma de Mallorca en 1971. Se formó como actor con la maestra italoamericana Leona di Marco y con la argentina Cristina Rota. También participa en sendos cursos de guion y sus cortometrajes han cosechado varios premios internacionales.

Padro Ayose was born in Lanzarote in 1986. He trained as an actor in Juan Carlos Corazza’s studio and participated in a large number of acting and scriptwriting courses. José Martret was born in Palma de Mallorca in 1971. He trained as an actor with the Italian-American teacher Leona di Marco and with the Argentine Cristina Rota. Nacido en Gran Canaria, es director y productor de cine. En el 2017 dirige La Entrega, cortometraje semifinalista en el Notodofilmfest. En 2018 y 2019 dirige los cortos documentales ‘Juntas’ e ‘Islas de Esclavos’. También destaca su faceta como productor del largometraje ‘La Piel del Volcán’ (Armando Ravelo, 2021) preseleccionado a los Premios Goya 2022.

Sinopsis
Una anciana siente que va a dar a luz justo antes de recibir la eutanasia. El médico decide seguirle el juego. Tras el nacimiento del no-bebé, Pepita se dispone a dormir por última vez.

An elderly woman feels that she is going to give birth just before being euthanized. The doctor decides to play along. After the birth of the non-baby, Pepita prepares to sleep for the last time.

Director formado en Madrid pero con experiencia en varios países. Apoya su dirección con la experiencia como operador de cámara, editor y guionista. Pero sobre todo puede charlar de cine en una sobremesa durante horas.

Director trained in Madrid but with experience in several countries. He supports his direction with experience as a camera operator, editor and screenwriter. But above all, he can talk about movies over a table for hours.

19 años – José Suay & Alejandro Moreiras (10´)

Sinopsis
Quedan pocas horas para su cumpleaños y Alan ha quedado para cenar con su amiga Marina. Su amigo Santi le sugiere que entre ellos dos hay algo más que amistad.

Alejandro Moreiras Clavijo y Pepe Suay Álamo, graduados en Comunicación Audiovisual en la Pompeu Fabra y en la Carlos III respectivamente. Actualmente, Alejandro estudia el máster en dirección de fotografía por la ESCAC y Pepe el de Guion de Cine y TV de la Carlos III organizado por ALMA.

Alejandro Moreiras Clavijo and Pepe Suay Álamo, graduates in Audiovisual Communication from Pompeu Fabra and Carlos III respectively. Currently, Alejandro is studying a master’s degree in photography direction at ESCAC and Pepe is studying for a master’s degree in Film and TV Script at Carlos III organized by ALMA.

Graduado como Director en el Instituto del Cine Canarias. Sus cortos han viajado por todo el mundo, cosechando algún premio. Tiene ojo para la crítica social con un toque humorístico. Su cine destaca los pequeños detalles de situaciones cotidianas de su entorno, con personajes diversos y coloridos.

Graduated as Director at the Instituto del Cine Canarias. His shorts have traveled the world, garnering awards. He has an eye for social criticism with a humorous twist. His cinema highlights the small details of everyday situations around him, with diverse and colorful characters.

Sinopsis
Al caer la noche alguien observa la ciudad. Las luces parpadean, la gente vuelve a casa y un tranvía pasa hasta que la vida se detiene en un frame.

At nightfall someone watches the city. The lights flicker, people go home and a tram goes by until life stops on a frame.

Biografía
Afincado entre Madrid y Tenerife, este cineasta algecireño ha sido durante 14 años profesor de lenguaje cinematográfico y montaje. Compagina su faceta como docente con proyectos en cine y televisión. También es reseñable su trabajo de montador en cortometrajes multipremiados. Es coguionista del largometraje “De ciervos y otros animales muertos” para la productora La Página en Blanco y da el salto a la dirección con el mediometraje “Jota”.

Based between Madrid and Tenerife, this filmmaker from Algeciras has been a professor of cinematographic language and editing for 14 years. He combines his facet as a teacher with film and television projects. His work as an editor in multi-award-winning short films is also noteworthy. He co-wrote the feature film “Deer and other dead animals” for the production company La Página en Blanco and made the leap into directing with the medium-length film “Jota”.

Cineasta de origen canario, Anatael Pérez ha llevado desde hace más de 10 años una prolífica carrera en el mundo del cortometraje y los festivales de cine. Más de 40 cortometrajes llevan su firma desde que creara en 2004 la marca Anatael Productions. Especializándose en la rama de diseño de producción y dirección de arte.

Filmmaker of Canarian origin, Anatael Pérez has led a prolific career in the world of short films and film festivals for more than 10 years. Sinopsis
Philomena Franz, una mujer sinti que sobrevivió al holocausto nazi, recuerda su vida antes del régimen nacionalsocialista, su paso por el campo de concentración de Auschwitz-Birkenau, su fuga y su lucha por que se reconozca el genocidio que sufrió el pueblo romaní.

Philomena Franz, a Sinti woman who survived the Nazi Holocaust, remembers her life before the National Socialist regime, her time in the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, her escape and her fight for recognition of the genocide suffered by the Roma people .

David Navarro empezó su andadura en el ámbito cinematográfico desempeñando puestos de un marcado carácter técnico (producción, cámara, edición, postproducción…) en producciones nacionales para cine, televisión y publicidad. Respaldado por este dilatado bagaje técnico, aborda su primer proyecto como director, con el documental sobre la figura de Philomena Franz.

David Navarro began his career in the cinematographic field, holding positions of a highly technical nature (production, camera, editing, post-production…) in national productions for cinema, television and advertising. Supported by this extensive technical background, he tackles his first project as a director, with the documentary on the figure of Philomena Franz.

 Donde los niños no sueñan – Stefano Sbrulli – Italia (20´)

Sinopsis
Lourdes vive a pocos metros de una gran mina de plomo que contamina el medio ambiente de la zona y sus hijos sufren graves enfermedades debido a la polución de metales pesados. Necesita huir de ahí, pero su situación económica se lo impide.

Lourdes lives a few meters from a large lead mine that pollutes the area’s environment and her children suffer serious illnesses due to heavy metal pollution. She needs to flee from there, but her economic situation prevents her from doing so.

Stefano Sbrulli (1988) es un artista visual residente en Italia. Graduado en Diseño Digital en el IED de Roma. Sus trabajos combinan video, fotos y gráficos y se enfocan principalmente en temas sociales y ambientales. Cubrió historias en Italia, Irak, Mozambique, la zona de los Balcanes y América Latina.

Stefano Sbrulli (1988) is a visual artist based in Italy. He graduated in Digital Design at the IED in Rome. His works combine video, photos and graphics and focus primarily on social and environmental issues. He covered stories in Italy, Iraq, Mozambique, the Balkans and Latin America.

Sara Furrer. Nacida en 1992 en Lucerna, Suiza. Aprendiz de fotografía, trabajó como asistente de fotógrafo en Lucerna, Berna y Hamburgo. Desde 2018 estudia Licenciatura en Cine en HSLU (Hochschule Luzern, Design & Kunst) y trabaja como fotógrafa independiente. Fabian Lütolf . Nacido en 1992 en Berna, Suiza. Ha estado trabajando en varias producciones cinematográficas y como fotógrafo independiente desde 2011. En 2017, obtuvo una licenciatura en Estudios de Medios en la Universidad de Friburgo con especialización en Historia Contemporánea y Derecho. En 2022, completó su licenciatura en Artes en Video en HSLU (Universidad de Artes y Ciencias Aplicadas de Lucerne) con especialización en Dirección.

«Live Till I Die» fue dirigida por un colectivo de cuatro directores. Su enfoque se basa en su experiencia laboral anterior juntos y en su conexión personal con el tema. Oscar Hedin, Åsa Ekman y Anders Teigen trabajaron juntos de manera similar en las películas «My life my lesson» y «Say Something», que se estrenaron en IDFA. Oscar Hedin, Åsa Ekman y Gustav Ågerstrand trabajaron juntos en «The Good Country». Además de codirigir, todos tienen roles secundarios: productor (Oscar), guionista (Åsa), DOP (Gustav) y editor (Anders).

«Live Till I Die» was directed by a collective of four directors. Their approach is based on their previous experience working together and their personal connection to the subject. Oscar Hedin, Åsa Ekman and Anders Teigen similarly worked together on the films «My life my lesson» and «Say Something», which premiered at IDFA. Oscar Hedin, Åsa Ekman and Gustav Ågerstrand worked together on «The Good Country». Se licencia en Ciencias Políticas en Toulouse, en Periodismo en Madrid y realiza un postgrado de guion de cine documental (Univ. Complutense). Trabaja en cine, televisión y publicidad. En 2004 codirige el largometraje Documental “200 KM”. Ha formado parte del comité de selección del festival Documentamadrid durante 9 ediciones, y ha sido programadora del festival Another Way Film Festival. Ha trabajado en la producción de festivales de cine, como Almería en Corto, Animadrid, Festival 4+1-Fundación Mapfre y Documentamadrid, del que ha sido coordinadora de programación y producción en 3 ediciones.

He graduated in Political Science in Toulouse, in Journalism in Madrid and did a postgraduate degree in documentary film script (Univ. Complutense). He works in film, television and advertising. In 2004 he co-directed the Documentary feature “200 KM”. She has been part of the selection committee of the Documentamadrid festival for 9 editions, and has been a programmer for the Another Way Film Festival. Shuli Huang es una escritora, directora y fotógrafa nacida en Wenzhou, China. Después de graduarse de la Academia de Cine de Beijing en 2019, se mudó a la ciudad de Nueva York como candidata a MFA para el programa de posgrado en cine de la NYU. «Farewell, My Hometown», su ópera prima como directora de fotografía, ganó el Premio Nuevas Corrientes durante el 26º Festival Internacional de Cine de Busan en 2021. Su segundo cortometraje, Will You Look At Me, fue seleccionado para el 61ª edición de La Semaine de la Critique Cannes 2022.

Shuli Huang is a writer, director, and photographer born in Wenzhou, China. After graduating from the Beijing Film Academy in 2019, she moved to New York City as an MFA candidate for NYU’s graduate film program. «Farewell, My Hometown,» her cinematographer debut, won the New Currents Award during the 26th Busan International Film Festival in 2021. Alba Esquinas es una directora y guionista nacida en Murcia en 1999. A los 18 años se traslada a Madrid donde realiza el Grado en Cinematografía y Artes Audiovisuales en la Escuela de artes TAI. Su primer cortometraje «Canción triste de alubias», codirigido con Oksana Savchuk, es seleccionado en el festival Notodofilmfest 2019, alzándose con el Premio Fundación Repsol «Rompiendo barreras». Más tarde se especializa en escritura cinematográfica, realizando el Máster de Guion de Cine y Televisión de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid y además se incorpora al Sindicato de Guionistas ALMA.

Alba Esquinas is a director and screenwriter born in Murcia in 1999. At the age of 18, she moved to Madrid where she studied Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts at the TAI School of Arts. Her first short film «Canción triste de alubias», co-directed with Oksana Savchuk, was selected at the Notodofilmfest 2019 festival, winning the Fundación Repsol «Breaking Barriers» Award. Ha escrito y dirigido 16 cortometrajes entre los que destacan VAGÓN 9/ACTO PRIMERO, SOCIALMENTE MUERTOS, ¿BANQUETA O TABURETE?, DAÑOS COLATERALES y el viral y multipremiado PARA SONIA. Ha trabajado en publicidad, cine y teatro y es miembro fundador de LA JARTÁ TEATRO Y AUDIOVISUAL. En la actualidad es profesor de interpretación en las escuelas ECE y JORGE EINES y, además, es colaborador en el programa radiofónico BUTACA Y BUTACÓN.

Sergio Milán studied cinematography at the SEPTIMA ARS school and interpretation at JORGE EINES, among others. Carlos Moriana es director y guionista. Tras diversos cortos de aprendizaje, debuta en el cortometraje profesional de alto presupuesto escribiendo y dirigiendo «La Habitación Blanca» (2019), un thriller fantástico que recorre el mundo entero, consiguiendo más de 40 premios y selecciones en festivales de todo el mundo. «El Semblante», codirigido con Raúl Cerezo, es su segundo cortometraje. Raúl Cerezo es director, productor y guionista. Fundador de la productora cinematográfica de género Eye Slice Pictures junto a Helion Ramalho, es una figura clave y reconocida en el mundo del cortometraje español.

Carlos Moriana is a director and screenwriter. After various apprenticeship shorts, he debuted in the high-budget professional short film writing and directing «The White Room» (2019), a fantastic thriller that travels the entire world, winning more than 40 awards and selections at festivals around the world. «El Semblante», co-directed with Raúl Cerezo, is his second short film. Raúl Cerezo is a director, producer and screenwriter. Founder of the genre film production company Eye Slice Pictures together with Helion Ramalho, he is a key and recognized figure in the world of Spanish short films.

Tras interesarse por las artes escénicas en Pisa, Italia, Gabriel Di Pastena se muda a Barcelona, donde trabaja en la producción de los largometrajes «Legado en los huesos» y «Ofrenda a la Tormenta». Se forma en el Máster de Dirección Cinematográfica en ESCAC y funda su propia productora, Blue Fox Media. Escribe y dirige cortometrajes como «Café avec Papa» o «La Promesa» y actualmente prepara su primer largometraje.

Gabriel Di Pastena grows up in Pisa, Italy, where he became interested in the Scenic Arts. He then moves to Barcelona, where he fully joins the film industry, working on the production of the feature films «Offering to the Storm» and «The Legacy of the Bones». He attends Film Director Master’s Degree at ESCAC and founds his production company, Blue Fox Media. He writes and directs short films as «Café avec Papa» and «The Promise», and he is currently preparing his first feature film.

Sofía Muñoz (Madrid, España, 11/12/1998). Se gradúa en 2020 en Ciencias Políticas en la UCM con el Trabajo Final de Grado «Representaciones de cuerpos y mujeres en el cine de Agnès Varda y Chantal Akerman. Un análisis geográfico-político», y se desplaza a Barcelona para realizar el Máster de Dirección en la ESCAC. Ha sido meritoria de producción en la película «No voy a pedir a nadie que me crea», producida por NETFLIX España con ZETA Studios. Su Trabajo Final de Máster, el cortometraje «Si me querei, irse», es su primer proyecto como directora.

Ona Jané Millá nace en Barcelona en el año 1992. Hija de una actriz, desde muy pequeña el mundo de la interpretación y el tetatro ejercen una gran influencia. En el 2014 se gradúa como montadora por la Escac pero es en el ámbito de la dirección donde centra sus esfuerzos. Rueda Lea, cortometraje que llega ser candidato a los premios Gaudi, y que recibe premios en importantes certámenes como el Mecal, Corto España, o los Fugaz.

Ona Jané Millá was born in Barcelona in 1992. As the daughter of an actress, the world of acting and theater had a great influence from a very young age. In 2014, she graduated with a Film Editing degree from ESCAC. However, she focuses her effort on the field of directing. Simon suffers from Asperger’s syndrome, but that doesn’t stop him from trying to communicate with Valeria, a deaf-mute girl who regularly visits the same lonely beach as he does. Simon loves to search for lost treasures with the help of his metal detector, and is fascinated by ferris wheels, although he has never been on one. Valeria would like to be able to get off the one that afflicts her heart.

NORIA is his third short film in film directing. Jason Boussioux es un director francés. Después de estudios de cine en Cannes y París en la Universidad de la Sorbona, ingresó en la ENS Louis-Lumière para formarse como Director de fotografía. Extrayendo sus historias de las imágenes de la noche, siempre se esfuerza por presentar imágenes fuertes con imágenes muy ricas, iluminación audaz y un diseño de sonido envolvente. Apasionado de la música clásica y el jazz, suele escribir historias en las que la música tiene un papel importante y con personajes atravesados por una melancólica crisis existencial. Influenciado por el cine de Damien Chazelle, David Lynch, Terrence Malick y Wong Kar-wai, sus géneros favoritos son el cine neo-noir, musical y surrealista.

Ali Sohail Jaura es un cineasta independiente de Karachi, Pakistán, con una inclinación por desarrollar emociones a través de sus historias. Le gusta explorar diferentes estilos de narración en sus películas. En 2017, realizó un cortometraje de viajes «Arz e Pakistan» (Tierra de Pakistán) basado en las regiones del norte de Pakistán que entró en una racha ganadora y ganó muchos elogios en varios festivales internacionales de cine de turismo. También fue clasificada entre las 10 mejores películas de turismo de 2018 por el Comité International des Festivals du Film Touristique.

Ali Sohail Jaura is an independent filmmaker from Karachi, Pakistan with a penchant to evolve emotions through my stories. He likes to explore different styles of storytelling in his films of him. In 2017, he made a travel short film «Arz e Pakistan» (Land of Pakistan) based on Northern Regions of Pakistan which went into a winning streak and won many accolades in various international tourism film festivals. It was also ranked in the Top 10 tourism films of 2018 by the Comité International des Festivals du Film Touristique.

Después de una Maestría en Cine en la Universidad Paul Valery (Montpellier) y un intercambio universitario en el “Writing Program” de la Universidad de Victoria (Canadá, BC), Mario Martínez Maquedano dirigió varios cortometrajes de ficción y documentales. Su primera película sobre él fue un documental sobre arcilla y vidrio en museos. Esta película, producida en el marco del programa Action Culturelle (ARTE), se proyectó en la Ópera Berlioz de Montpellier, en el marco de FIFAV. Tras esta primera experiencia, optó por trabajar en cortometrajes de ficción.

After a Master’s Degree in Film at the Paul Valery University (Montpellier) and a university exchange in the «Writing Program» of the University of Victoria (Canada, BC), Mario Martínez Maquedano directed several fiction short films and documentaries. His first film about him was a documentary about clay and glass in museums. Carlos Hinojosa y Gerardo Romero son dos jóvenes directores jaliscienses, se conocieron mientras estudiando en la Universidad de Medios Audiovisuales (CAAV) en Guadalajara, Jalisco. Fue cuando que con un par de amigos montaron una productora llamada «Zombie Films» con el propósito de producir sus propios proyectos y comenzó con el cortometraje «Oclayo» que fue el ganador de la edición 2021 del Concurso de Cortometrajes Ten Scary Seconds. Ahora, un par de años después, presentan «Los Ojos de Doña Lucy» como tesis para graduarse de la Universidad.

Carlos Hinojosa and Gerardo Romero are two young directors from Jalisco, they met them while they were studying at the University of Audiovisual Media (CAAV) in Guadalajara, Jalisco. It was when with a couple of friends they set up a production company called «Zombie Films» with the purpose of producing their own projects and started with the short film «Oclayo» which was the winner of the 2021 edition of the Ten Scary Seconds Short Film Contest. Now, a couple of years later, we present «Los Ojos de Doña Lucy» as thesis to graduate from the University.

Escribió varios temas, uno de los cuales se convirtió en guion de un cortometraje que también dirigió en 2020: «It’s Just in My Head», protagonizado por Claudio Segaluscio y Carmine Fabricatore, seleccionado en casi 50 festivales internacionales de cine y distribuido en DVD y VOD en varios territorios. Acaba de terminar su segundo cortometraje titulado «El Aniversario».

Nací en 1991 en Ereván. Cuando tenía tres años, me mudé con mis padres a Mariupol, Ucrania. Fui miembro del laboratorio de cine «KLAS» de Alexander Sokurov en 2014. Me gradué de la Academia Estatal de Cultura de Kharkiv con un título en dirección de cine y televisión. En 2016. Realicé varios cortometrajes que ganaron premios en varios festivales de cine nacionales e internacionales. durante los estudios en la Academia. El año pasado, mi primer largometraje, «My Young Prince», fue uno de los ganadores del concurso Dergkino y recibió una respuesta internacional incluso antes del rodaje. A fines del año pasado, obtuve una subvención de Netflix y la Academia de Cine de Ucrania para desarrollar una miniserie.

I was born in 1991 in Yerevan. When I was three years old, I moved with my parents to Mariupol, Ukraine. I was a member of Alexander Sokurov’s film laboratory «KLAS» in 2014. I graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Culture with a degree in film and television directing In 2016. I made several short films that won prizes at various national and international film festivals during studies at the Academy. Last year my debut feature film «My Young Prince» was one of the winners of the Dergkino competition and received an international response even before the shooting. Maite Bonilla es becaria de Inwood Art Works 2021 por su guión “I Am Poem”. También es una actriz galardonada y nominada a varios premios latinos prestigiosos como ACE, HOLA, LATA y ATI por su papel de «Ramona» de la novela «En el nombre de Salomé» de Julia Alvarez ( En el nombre de Salomé) en Repertorio Español. La Sra. Bonilla dirigió, coescribió y protagonizó su primer cortometraje La EntreViú, que ganó Mejor Actriz, Mejor Guionista y Mejor Cortometraje en el festival de cine FEMUJER (2019) en la República Dominicana.

Biografía
Fabricio Centorbi es Licenciado en Comunicación Social, nació en Mendoza Argentina en 1975. Su familia fue propietaria de dos salas de cine en la localidad de Rivadavia – Mendoza, por lo que su vinculo con las películas es desde pequeño. Ha asistido a diversos cursos de cine y guion en su país. Luego de «Almas y Diamantes», «Manzanero» y «Llamadas», Oyentes su cuarto cortometraje ha conseguido 13 premios en festivales internacionales. «Las Estrategas» es su 5º cortometraje y continúa su línea de guiones relacionados con los medios de comunicación y la relación que tienen con sus audiencias. En post producción se encuentra la serie web «La Noche Antes», coescrita y codirigida por él.

His family owned two movie theaters in the town of Rivadavia – Mendoza, so his relationship with movies has been since he was little. He has attended various film and script courses in his country. After «Almas y Diamantes», «Manzanero» and «Llamadas», Listeners, his fourth short film has won 13 awards at international festivals. «Las Estrategas» is his 5th short film and continues his line of scripts related to the media and the relationship they have with their audiences. In post production is the web series «La Noche Antes», co-written and co-directed by him.

Una pareja viaja al sur para encontrar su conexión perdida con la ayuda de un gurú en un misterioso resort. Durante su viaje, paran para acampar y su automóvil desaparece.

A couple travels south to find their lost connection with the help of a guru at a mysterious resort. During their trip, they stop to camp and their car disappears.

Jorūnė Greičiūtė (n. 1991) estudió Licenciatura en Filosofía en la Universidad de Vilnius. En 2020 terminó sus estudios de Maestría en Dirección de Cine en la Academia Lituana de Música y Teatro. Continúa su trabajo dirigiendo cortometrajes y asistiendo a otros directores en plató. Su película de graduación «Viskas gerai» («It’s Alright») ganó el premio a la Mejor Película Lituana en el Foro Europeo de Cine «Scanorama» y el premio a la Mejor Película Estudiantil en los Premios del Cine Lituano 2022. Su próximo cortometraje, «Išvyka» («El Viaje») , fue nominado al premio al Mejor Cortometraje en los Premios de Cine de Lituania 2022.

Nacido y criado en los suburbios de París, Romain Pham Roellet es un joven director franco-vietnamita. Se enamora del cine a los 16 años. Desde entonces escribe y dirige películas. Primero aprendiendo solo y luego a través de l’ESRA, una escuela de cine en París. Intenta llevar su pasión por la fotografía callejera a su cine. En 2021 dirigió Herdnas, un cortometraje documental que fue emitido por la televisión nacional francesa. Su primer cortometraje de ficción, Jean se enamoró, fue emitido por Canal+ durante el verano de 2022 y ahora está de gira por festivales. Fue seleccionada en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Clermont Ferrand en 2023.

Born and raised in the suburbs of Paris, Romain Pham Roellet is a young French-Vietnamese director. He falls in love with cinema at the age of 16. Ever since, he writes and directs movies. First learning by himself then through l’ESRA, a film school in Paris. He tries to bring his passion for street photography into his cinema. In 2021, he directed Herdnas, a short documentary film that was broadcasted by French national TV. His first fiction short film, Jean Fell in Love was broadcast by Canal+ during the summer of 2022 and is now touring festivals. It was selected at Clermont Ferrand’s international Film Festival in 2023.

Tango Charlie – Paul Gojecki & Mathias Priou – Francia (19´)

Prune es una niña llena de vida. Un día se aventura en una fábrica abandonada con sus amigos y conoce a Víctor, un ex trabajador amargado que se ha instalado en el edificio en ruinas.

Prune is a girl full of life. One day she ventures into an abandoned factory with her friends and she meets Victor, an embittered ex-worker who has settled in the dilapidated building.

Se conocieron en la escuela de cine Esra Paris en 2015. Paul y Mathias están influenciados por referencias y valores comunes. Juntos han producido una gran cantidad de proyectos audiovisuales, principalmente cortometrajes de ficción, pero también videos publicitarios y musicales. Estos proyectos les han permitido evolucionar juntos, avanzando así hacia temas recurrentes: el amor, la esperanza, el tiempo. Estos temas ahora forman el núcleo duro de su investigación artística y de escritura de guiones. Les gusta especialmente suscitar emociones escenificando relaciones humanas complejas pero poéticas, en contextos duros.

Met at the Esra Paris film school in 2015, Paul and Mathias are influenced by common references and values. Together, they have produced a lot of audiovisual projects, mainly fictional short films, but also advertising and music videos. These projects have allowed them to evolve together, thus moving towards recurring themes: love, hope, time. These themes now form the hard core of their artistic and scriptwriting research. They particularly like to arouse emotion by staging complex but poetic human relationships, in harsh contexts.
